This time of year its very common for door mechanism failures due to doors not aligned properly. This can be down to natural movement or worn hinges or even warped frames. This put emense pressure on the door locking mechanism that causes eventual failure.
In this case a gearbox was needed as it had failed so the customer was unable to open the door.
